10/7/2022 0 Comments What Does HealthEquity Mean? The idea of health equity is to make sure that everyone gets the same level of health care, no matter what their social status or circumstances are. Health equity can be measured by how long people live, how likely they are to get sick or be disabled, and how easy it is to get treatment and care. Inequalities in health care are a big problem that needs to be fixed in a systematic and collaborative way. The National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) works on this problem through research, tools, and programs that aim to get rid of health disparities.
The IRS has named HealthEquity a non-bank health savings trustee. HealthEquity is an American company. This means that it can be the custodian of health savings accounts, even if they are sponsored by a different bank. Stephen Neeleman started the company in 2002. He wanted to fix the broken relationship between patients and doctors and help more people in the U.S. get good health insurance. Jon Kessler became the company's president and CEO in 2009. The CDC says that health equity means that everyone has the same chance to live a healthy life. It means that everyone has the same access to doctors, healthy food, and a safe place to live. This means making sure everyone has the best health possible and paying extra attention to those who are most likely to get sick. Health equity means that everyone should be able to get the same health care services, but that doesn't mean that everyone should get them. It's important to keep in mind that not everyone will be able to use these chances. For example, a clinic might offer free health checks every morning, but people who work during the day wouldn't be able to use them. In these situations, health equity would mean that the clinic would have to offer services at different times. Health screenings on wheels and health seminars for specific groups are two other examples.
